Nailing bumpstop after lowering springs install
Hey guys. I have a 99 trans am and installed Bilstein shocks and Eibach sportline springs all the way around. Well here is the deal. THe passenger rear sits about 3/4" - 1" lower than the rest of the car, and i drill the bumpstop with most of the dips and bumps in the road. Does anyone know what i can do to fix this? I am thinking about replacing the rear springs with the eibach pro kit springs to raise the whole rear of the car a little bit, but i do not want crappy ride quality. My true dual borla mufflers underneath scratch the ground sometimes as well. I have adjustable lower control arms and panhard bar, and also have the LCA relocation brackets. I am alos looking to put 18x9 wheels on the front and probably 19x11 wheels on the back in the near future. I have adjusted everything and it still nials the bumpstop. Any info would be very much appreciated

Buy some proper springs.... You are too low, and not firm enough to properly support the car and let the bumpstops work as they should. Instead you are really just riding around on them all the time. Of course the next issue is that the shocks you have aren't really supposed to be used with lowering spring either.

Sportlines make the car sit insanely close to the bumpstops. Which means you have almost no suspension travel and almost a solid rear suspension with a bit of wobble to it. They also have insanely low springrates for such a low spring. The bilstein shock also isnt up to the task of taking on the sportline spring.
Koni's or Bilstein revalves would be good for lowering springs. If you are willing to compromise on the ride height, I would put stock springs back there which would be pretty good with the bilstein HDs, and then save up for a good spring and shock combo.

where could i get the bilstein re-valves. What is the difference between the re-valves and the HD's that are on there now. I got the HDs of ebay for $215 for all four.

Also, I wouldn't get them revalved to correctly dampen the sportline springs. Judging from this thread, I just have a feeling that you will probably go with a different set sometime down the road. You will still be riding the bumpstops even with revalves or konis.

Sams springs come highly recommended. I have LG G2's and love them, but I dont have anything other than stock to compare them too. I took the spacers out and dont have any hitting of the bump stops unless I space out and hit a pot hole or something (I better not do that with the new wheels).

Did these springs lower the car any. I have heard good things about the LG G2's and Hotchkis springs. Havent heard to much about shocks though, and which ones are good with these springs.

Just curious. Why are you getting such big rims? 19x11? Are those the c6 z06 rim specs? 19x11 will give you less tire that will give slightly. I can imagine you'd have a pretty tail happy setup with stiffer rear springs and 19x11 wheels. Tune it out to your preference though. I would probably keep stock springs if I went with a 19x11 wheel. The stock springs work actually pretty well for racing applications.

i love the look of the wider tires on the back. I want bigger and wider tires on the back than i do on the front. I just think the 17's dont really fill out the front well enough. I saw a trans am in a HPP magazine a while back with the same size wheels and it looked good. Do you think i would have rubbing issues?

11's take work to fit, it's not just a slap them on and roll kind of thing. And 19's are insane. Hugely costly, and leaves you with no sidewall for tire compliance which you want some of for ride.

I have Koni's and cant really compare to any other shock other than stock, but I think just about everyone would agree that they are hands down the best.
