If your car came with DuhCrappins and you don't plan on lowering the car, then Bilstien's are a good upgrade. I noticed a big difference in handling and ride, but my stock shocks were beyond wore out. What do you plan on doining with the car; street car, drag, auto-cross, road race...? Also, what is your budget? Koni SA's are a great shock but they are not cheap. (get what you pay for disclosure 
)

Bilstein HDs on stock springs made a world of difference to my 98 Camaro SS.
On lowering springs you MUST go to the Konis, Bilsteins CANNOT handle the spring pressures. Anyone who tells you different is just plain wrong.
And skip the "SLP/Bilstein" "package"... the springs are a poor choice of rate and the shcks are inadequate to the task.
For true suspension answers, hit up Sam Strano (google).
But the short answer is that the Bilstein HDs (not the generic Bilstein) are great on stock springs and up to 1LE springs, but not with springs much beyond that in spring rate.

What's the difference in the two bilstein shocks? I figured the hd's were for drag racing. I got 26,000 miles on my ride, and it's a 2001. So do you think the stock shocks could be better?
