Default UMI lca install

Can anyone tell me on the combo UMI lca (rod and bushing) does the rod end bolt to the frame end and the poly bush end to the axle end or vice versa??

Most people put the rod end on the axle, so it can rotate.

yep rod end on the axle and bushing on the frame. It'll keep the noise down if the bushing is on the frame.

Thanks that part is right. Now does it matter if they were welded and one lca had to be adjusted or lengthened about an inch longer than the other?? Both wheels are centered I think the welder didnt have his glasses on and one side is angled more so they adjusted the lca to compensate. Im assuming thats ok.

What are you talking about that's welded?

Something would have to be REALLY off for one side to be adjusted that much. I set mine to stock length and bolted them in.

Yes they are welded in, if they were bolted only they would self adjust as long as they were set to factory length. Since they were welded in and welded on different angles or planes left and right the distance to the lowest mounting hole is changed and caused the need to adjust or lengthen one side beyond stock length to try and center the wheels.

oooooooooh, you're talking about the LCA relocation brackets. I was racking my brain trying to figure out how you would weld a lower control arm into a car and still have it work.

Yes, if your LCA brackets are off, you will need to adjust your lower control arms. A good four wheel alignment shop should be able to help you there.
