Default knocking noise from drivers frt wheel

I have this knocking noise from my driver side front wheel as it makes 1 full rotation. It sounds like a series of very small "clicks", then as it finishes making 1 full turn, you hear a "clunk"
"clunk", "click", "click", "click", "clunk", etc.
I have a couple small vids so you can hear the sounds for yourself, with the engine off so you have no background noise.
It almost sounds like something falling....

BTW, the car is a 00 T/A A4, 57K miles, stock front suspension (no front swaybar)

Get that wheel up in the air.

Grab the wheel at the 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock position.
Rock it left/right.
Is there any play/noise?
If so, then the outer tie rod needs to be replaced.

Grab the wheel at the 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock position.
Rock it up/down.
Is there any play/noise?
If so, then the upper and/or lower ball joint(s) need to be replaced.
When you get the spindle off you can inspect the ball joints to see which one has the excess play.
(or take it to Sears and have them replace both with Moog parts)

Rotate the wheel.
Any noise?
If so, take the wheel off and rotate the hub.
Any noise?
Look for anything that can contact the rotor or wheel.
if nothing, take off the caliper and rotor and rotate the hub.
Any noise?
If so then the wheel bearing needs to be replaced.

If there is no noise in any of that, then the nut on the top of the shock might be loose and the shock is moving up/down/left/right in the mount making noise. I left this for last because its the most work to check. You'll have to drop the shock/spring assembly from the tower to inspect the nut. Also make sure nothing is missing like a rubber isolator or washer.

VIP, there is a little bit of play (just a LITTLE play from side to side) so, I think that would be the tie rod end correct?

thank you so much VIP, you are a BIG help!!!!

also could be your lugnut's are alittle loose, might want to just double check that

i was so pissed when i got hit and when i took the wheel off to put the new fender on and put the wheel back on and to start tightening it, the insurance calls and goes bla bla bla about what happened and when i hung up i went to go drive around alitttle bit. it made that same noise and it got REALLy bad that i had to pull over to see if the bitch had jacked up my tie rod, pulled over checked and nothing looked bad (visual check) i go back home to do the wheel wiggle jig and then notice that the wheel's nut's wernt tightened at all. i went about 2 to 3 turns with my fingers! so needless to say i torqued them down and that took care of the noise.....but the bitch still damaged my inner tie rod's!! owell once less sound lol

I'm not there to judge the amount of play, but there pretty much shouldn't be any (unless what you are feeling is some slop elsewhere). You'll definitely need an alignment after replacing them.
