I care about weight b/c I want as much off of the car as possible, expecially off the front end. I dont have ABS/TCS so that is of no concern. I also dont really care about a comfortable ride. I want an excellent handling weekend warrior that I can drive on the street and take to the track.

On a seperate note, I do want to know about this extra bit of suspension travel you mentioned in your last post...

Just an update, I did a $0 cost mod to my front end that gained me roughly about 1.5" of extra wheel travel on the compression side. It looks sick. The upper a-arm has about 1/4" clearance and the wheel has about 3/8" clearance from the shock tower. Lower balljoint looks fine, but the upper may be at it's limit. This was with the weight of the car on the shock and bumpstop, no spring.

Everyone can do this mod and make their lowered car ride smoother and maintain better grip in the corners. It's sweet.

I just spent about 3 hours swapping shocks and measuring crap. I took pictures from the same angle so you can see the rim to fender gap for each of the below variations at max compression.

DeCarbon stock bumpstop
DeCarbon tapered bumpstop
Koni 40mm bumpstop

Damn hurricane is coming. Bummer. This may delay things.

I'm going to do a full write up of this mod with lots of pictures. Look for the thread shortly.

Here's a teaser pic for you. Tucking 285's.

We have a 2" drop spindle. It will require 3rd gen brakes. It will clear a 15" wheel. They are a race part.

How are yours different from the Racecraft spindles?

Regardless, I'm looking for a street part that retains the 4th gen brakes.

Ours are a different design and are a bit lighter.

Why use the 3rd gen brakes?

They are cheaper, lighter, and mount on a spindle that is incorporated into the drop spindle. It makes for an easy clean install.

Dude, that's just a vision. Not real. A pretty crude photoshop I did a while back. I thought that was obvious. Chop top, lowered, raised wheel wells, about waist high.

But seriously, throw a jet on the back and it would look like that batmobile. And the batmobile is cool.
