if this is 100% street use? If so I don't think I would waste that much money on it, I would buy stainless lines, new rotors and pads. One test I seen with a wrx stock brakes vs big brakes was after the 3rd stop the stockers begin to fade. But your limited to stopping distance with the kind of payment and tire compound often times before ur brakes in normal street use I would think.

I would try to work with the stock system first. Main reason being is the extra unsprung weight some of the big brake kits add, and limited parts availability.

Thats what I'm going to do. Use the hawk or PBR metal masters(couple of bucks cheaper about the same pad).

I think you will be happy with that combo!

Before I got my big brakes, I ran Hawk pads, SS lines and a slotted rotor. Stomping it at high speeds (100+), I can tell a world of difference to how much faster I slow down with the big calipers and 14 inch rotors. I think it was one of the best mods I did.

The setup I plan on running is a C5 upgrade with stoptech C5 2pc rotors along with their brake lines and carbotech pads. Its not a chape setup, but its about all I think I will ever need.

Speed Inc has them on their site, and some other sponsors I'm sure. I was going to get Willwoods, but I got hooked up with a $1000 discount for mine. I got one of the first sets of the Baers, if not the very first one. If you drive at high speeds, big brakes are worth every penny, I don't care if it's a street car or what kind of tire you have. People who say they aren't don't have them.

The tests I saw on that car was all on stock cars and like 60-70mph and they was just testing brake fade.

Good info though. I had thought about the wildwood when I had my lt1 car it seems like a pretty big project? Everything fit on stock spindles?

I just swapped on the Wilwood 6 piston kit. It's about 1000x better than the stock LT1 brakes. There wasn't much involved in swapping. I ended up finding a second set of spindles and cut them down on my buddies mill. Bolted everything up, and blead out the system. Doesn't look bad either I'd say.
