what is a better STB for a 98 camaro, a 3 point or a the normal strut to strut? and is it worth it

 

Normal strut to strut(didn't think they made a 3pt), you'll feel a diiference handling on highways. Especially at high speeds

 

You'll be fine with the 2pt STB.

You can get a 3pt STB but the big issue with this STB is that it may result in cracks formng on the windshield due to the additional stresses occuring at 3 connections as opposed to 2 connections with the 2pt STB

If you go with either one, make sure you get one that is a one piece design (ie not connectors in the middle of the bar, no adjustment screws, etc as these will eventuall cause the STB to break)

 

now is the crom moly the type of metal to go with or does it even matter?

 

Chrome Moly is stronger than steel tubing STB's, and they cost a bit more. Get some quotes and see if there is much of a difference in price, if its not that big of a gap, then opt for the chrome moly.

2 point STB would be best. Then add a set of SFC to finish it off.

 

You can get them from UMI, BMR, SLP, Hotchkis, etc. You'll find that everyone has an opinion as to which they prefer, so its up to you to decide.

STB did nothing for me except add weight to my engine bay. Compared to a front swaybar, the STB is useless. Looks kinda pretty in the engine bay though.
