Baer Decelarotors cracked!
I'm not very pleased right now. I've got about 20k miles on my Baer Decelarotors. They are cracking. Everywhere! Not just out from the cross drilled holes, but everywhere. I'm highly disappointed for $300 rotors. I've never done anything retarded either, like slamming on my brakes through a deep puddle or something stupid like that either.
Anyone else have this issue? I'm really angry right about now.
I have the LS1 brake setup on my car also for the rest of my brake setup details.

Over and over again we try to preach to people to stay away from the drilled rotors...

Slotted and/or drilled rotors are much more susceptible to cracking. It is possible to crack ANY rotor...I've cracked brembos using HPS pads. For the price though the Brembo blanks are hard to beat.

Believe it or not I have Autozone Aimco Extreme cross drilled and slotted rotors on the front of my car with about 40k on em. I was working for them at the time and got my discount.
Anyway, they are still looking great and have not cracked or anything. Of course I drive like a gramma most of the time.
I figured they wouldn't last long but if you pussyfoot em they last.

Have you called Baer and see what they say. I ahve them same rotors as well with no issues.
They do carry a 2 year warranty on them if I remember right.
Not to start a crap storm but preaching about blanks does not mean much. I ran all sorts of blanks on my Formula and warped everyone of them within 5000 miles. I am not a hard driver, dont race, dont drag, dont do much of anything. I went thru the calipers at first to make sure none of the slider pins were frozen and they all work fine.
I never could figure that out, my 89 Formula had 180,000 miles on it and nver had the issue with blanks like I did with mine.
I put 50,000 on the powerslots before they had a crank and I replaced them with the Baers and have about 5000 miles on them so far.

Try the Autozone duralast rotors. I have about 5k miles on mine right now. That is 5k hard miles. I autox and drive very hard on the street. This is with hawk hps pads. They have seen multiple 130+mph hard stops and havent warped at all.

Your 89 Formula also doesn't have near the clamping or braking power....its hard to crack something unless you have a braking system that is strong enough to do it.

I had a 89 Formula, I have a 01 Formula now.
I warped 2 factory sets of rotors, the ones the car came with and the ones the GM replaced them with at 2000 miles. Turned them at 7000 miles only to have them warped by 12,000. Replaced them at 17,000 with Powerstops on all four corners and never looked back.
I dont want to get into a pissing match on this subject because both sides seem to be very adamant about how they like blank or drilled.
I personally have had no issues with my drilled rotors. They have held up at the drags with no issues and handled several 140+ stops with no issues. The only reason I have the Bears now is because they dropped under min specs and had one crack on one of the front rotors.
If solid rotors were the best option then motorcycles would be using them, yet every sport bike I have owned uses drilled rotors. T ouse the comparison to race cars doesnt relaly work as they use alot better materials and or realistically unobtainable materials that most people cant afford to use on the street like the carbon rotors.
To each their own and I will say this is one of those areas that we will have to agree to disagree.
