Slotted Rotors
Slotted Rotors K, so i just got slotted brake, in the pictures they show that they are like polished, nice and shinny, show car looking, but then when they arrive here they are like dull looking, is there something that you are supposed to do to them before you put them on to shine them up or do they just shine up as they wear or what? Also, for those that might ask this question, there were not any options to choose chrome or anything like that.
I'd hose them down with brake cleaner. Many rotors are shipped in a waxy grease to prevent rusting while in stock in the warehouse or during shipping. You want to spray them down and wipe all of that off of them before you install them.
You don't want to contaminate the pads with the waxy/greasy residue that most rotors come shipped in, that's why I suggest cleaning them with brake clean and wiping them down.
Yes, the area that the pad contacts will be somewhat shiny from the pads, I'm assuming you're concerned about the cosmetics?
