Default Warped Rotors

I'm assuming it's the fronts that are warped. I'm hoping I can just get them turned. Hard to tell, honestly, but the fronts would certainly be the ones to heat up the most.

I haven't torn into it yet, but is the hub assembly like it is on most other front ends - cap, cotterpin, hub nut, inner and outer bearings?

What is the torque setting / procedure for reinstalling the hub nut? (lb ft. to torque, and how much to back off afterwards)

I'll repack bearings and replace grease seals while I'm in there.

The rotor and hub are separate.
You only need to replace the rotor.

Here is a write-up:

(I'd suggest doing one side at a time instead of putting the entire car on jack stands at once though.)

If your running stock rotors then I would advise just going with a different setup for rotors. I think you will be much more happier than trying to have the stocks turned. Ive gone through 2 sets of stock rotors then got wise and went with brembos. There is a wealth of knowledge and info on here. There are packages to meet every budget. You can slap some AutoZone rotors or go to a big brake upgrade.

All the ones that are direct replacements and not over-sized.
In other words... all stock replacements (as opposed to larger rotor kits or rotors for other vehicles ex: Corvette rotors require a bracket to move the caliper outward for them to fit on a f-body, the installation may require other components as well).

mine have quite a bit of warp to them too... 60mph+ will cause the wheel to shake... then 20 and below will feel like a lope while stopping

i warped 4 sets of stock rotors. ALLOT of people go with the Brembo blanks and for good reason, they are affordable and a reliable upgrade. I ended up getting the Eradispeeds, and have been very happy with them, going on 2 years now.

Got it - thanks for the help. This is the first sealed hub unit I've ever owned...almost too easy.

Easy, yes. But it makes the pirce of replacing wheelbearings go from $10 bearings to a $100 assembly. Trade-off???
