Default +1 for UMI TQ Arm

I had my Tranny mounted UMI Adj TQ Arm installed earlier today. My thoughts on the TQ Arm is it works. I notice better take off and turning capabilities This mod was well worth it.

Mike

You may want to look into getting the bracket that moves the TA off the tailshaft. My buddy cracked his from the stress under accelerating

That's such a rarity (and really isn't from the torque arm, generally a casting flaw in the trans). And moving it to the sheetmetal floorpan not designed for such loads without some really good 3-pt connectors isn't really helping the problem. I'd rather have to replace a trans than fix the floorpan myself.

I think he was talking about the relocation kit that replaces the crossmember.

Yeah, if you do the one that removes the crossmember I dont see why that would be bad.

That's much better, I was mostly referring to the actual shorter arms that use the trans tunnel brace mount.

does it use a normal tranny mounted torque arm when you relocate it to the crossmember,or does it take a shorter one????

I have the conversion crossmember that BMR makes.
I really like getting the TA mount off the trans. Wish someone had made these years ago.

OK, so the regular tranny mounted T/A and the relocation kit is recomended over the whole set-up that relocates it to the floor pan. Sorry, but i am trying to figure this crap out. I seen the one for like $350 that mounts to the floor pan and has an optional loop. i was leaning toward that one until this thread..thanks

ME TOO ME TOO!

I ordered from Ryan at UMI and got my adj TA and PHB about a week or two ago. Just now had time to install the TA. oh yea! I love it! Granted I'm not making enough power to notice it on the launches, but soon enough also I too noticed some improved handling in the sturdyness of the rearend.

PHB goes in this weekend

Thanks again Ryan and UMI! +1 !!!

Thanks again everyone, glad you are happy with the arms!

The item you are referring to for approx. $350 is this item- www.umiperformance.com/2203 We also have a few other option on this item depending on the exhaust and whether you want the front drive shaft loop. This is a very nice set-up and one of our most popular items. But depending on your application this item may not be for you. How do you drive the vehicle and what is it used for?

Thank you!
Ryan

It is a street car with a usuall couple visit's to the track a year. Will have a moser 9in. w/4.10's and UMI everything I like the idea of replacing the trans cross member with the relocation kit, and going with the adj. torque arm over the other one you posted. That was the one i was talking about. Thanks UMI
