Default KYB Adjustable shocks

I got my rear shocks today but the instructions might as well be in chinese, how do I know where to adjust them to for the street and the drag strip?

I got the specs, thought I would share them. They are KYB AGX

#1 = (5% softer than Factory #5 = (43.5% firmer than Factory)

#2 = (Factory damping force) #6 = (72% firmer than Factory)

#3 = (7.5% firmer than Factory) #7 = (97.5 firmer than Factory)

#4 = (15% firmer than Factory)(GR-2) #8 = (123 % firmer than
Factory)

Do you or anyone know if those are for rebound settings only, or both compression and rebound?

They aren't for drag racing. Not for lowered cars also. Do a search. They are a decent budget shock for around $150-$200 for a set of 4, but I wouldn't run them. Do it right the first time and get Koni's or QA1's.

Also this: https://ls1tech.com/forums/showpost....40&postcount=4

I wouldn't install those shocks on my lawn mower, I tried two different sets and both were way too soft ( even set on number 8 ). Go with the Bilsteins, JMO.

They aren't that cheap, around $180 for the rear pair. I already got some so I guess I will see how they do, dont have time to send them back and get something else.

They were on the car when I bought it, they seem to work well on the street.
I don't like them at the strip though

It seems as though everyone dislikes them here, and SA Koni's and revalved Bilsteins seem to be the better options. However I find a ton of miata owners run them and also subaru people (nasioc) use agx's as an upgrade because I don't think you can get Koni's to fit on those cars without a lot of modification.

Keep us updated on this. I'm thinking about them for my car, with a set of ProKits. I"ve read alot of posts that say Koni or Bilsteins, but I think that alot of people jump on the band wagon and just say that cause thats what everyone else says. I dont plan on drag racing, I dont X cross, I just drive my car to work and home and on the highway, so if it's not the firmest in the world I dont car. My friends with 3rd gen have them with the pro kits and they love them. I can't imagine a 3rd gen is much differen't in weight then a 4th.

So let me know what you think of them.

What I've heard is that the KYB's are a good shock company but the 4th gen LS1 isn't one of the car's they nailed down very well. I think Sam mentioned it in the past but don't quote me on that exactly. They appear to be better than stock shocks though. I would personally not even get them for stock springs because I can get a better reputable shock for similar money.

Not sure what would be a good setting for you for drag racing though.... maybe go to a test n tune and muck around with different settings. Settings have a lot to do with personal preference. That's the beauty of being adjustable I'm assuming the fronts you'd want turned down pretty low?
