Default koni adjustable shocks

i just bought koni adjustable shocks for my car i have a question.
to save a little money, i bought 3rd gens for the rear, and 4th gens for the front. to tune the rear, can i just jack up the car and slip the tool underneath the shock? or does the shock need to physically come off the car?

shock stays on the car. you have to take the tire off to get at it.

Tool for 3rd gens? I thought the shock had to be unbolted at the bottom, slide the rubber boot out of the way, depress the little ball and twist the shock body to the correct setting. What am I missing?

If you switched the rears for 4th gens, it's all to easy. Lift the carpet and turn the **** to adjust.

looks like you cut alot of the carpet. didnt your rug already have a perferated box cut into it? i just cut that, and it flaps down enough to get at the shock.

side note: anyone have a spare adjustment wheel?? i never got one with my shocks, called for a replacement 3 WEEKS ago and STILL havent gotten it.

FWIW, I can jack up the front and adjust the front Konis w an allen wrench--w/out removing the wheel.

Actually, I stole that pic from this website, http://www.greenfries.info/Koni_shocks.htm . I went the cheap route and bought the 3rd gens for the rear.
