Default Is this normal?

No, there must be a leak / air in the system - I had to bleed the system three times then after 20 miles of driving I noticed a drop of brake fluid on the bottom of the solenoid; I had to tighten up the fittings on the top and bottom of the solenoid and bleed the system again - problem solved.

just keep bleeding it and see if air bubbles come out.

In between bleeds, turn the car on for 30 seconds to make sure the ABS unit test itself by cycling. This may help work out the air.

Check those fittings on the line lock religiously. I had to work on them 3 times duting install to stop all the leaks. I still check it every time I open the hood just to be safe.

no it wont do anything for you to use tape, its a flared fitting.

yeah, sounds like ur sucking air into your system. I had a similar problem when i had purchased pre bent lines and it turned out that a flare was misproportioned.
