Default Koni Install Help....please

How far do I tighten the new nut of the Konis (front) after I install the perch?
Then How will I be able to adjust the F/shocks after they are in?
Sorry for the stupid questions but My shocks didn't come with instructions. bought them New but no paper work just sealed bags w/BS illustrations!!

What about the bump stops in the rear?
what do I do with those?
Are there any in the front?
cause I'll be taking them on today!
Thanks for youe help!!

what nut are you talking about. with the wheel turned all the way out, you might be able to reach in with a small, long allen wrench and sweep the adjustment. make sure you put the window thats cut out of the top of the shock on the OUTSIDE, so you can get it.

shouldnt have to do anything with the bumpstops. only if youre running 11in wide rims, you may have to grind them down some. if not, then dont touch them. there arent any in the front.

When I assembled my Konis and Stranos, I just took my hand and held the adjuster nut, and the perch and took the impact and ran the nut tight, make sure the adjusting wheel faces out.

ok well I took the car out for a test drive and it RATTLED on every bump!!
I know I tightned every bolt.
brian at speedinc said that the center nut that attaches the perch to the shock determines how low the car is gonna be.
So my dumb *** believed him and left 6 threads showing.
would this make the car rattle?
Should I Tighten the nut further?
do I tighten both sides the same length down the shock shaft?

please I need some help on this!!!

other than that the stance and look of the car look really nice.

and other than the rattling the ride was better than the factory naturally but I was impressed !!

You left the nut on top of the shock backed off 6 threads?

could it be that there is not enough tension because it is not further down the shock shaft?

Well I dont remember exactly how mine looked but When you install the spring the cars weight compresses it even further. So basically when your suspension goes up and down the shock does too. If the nuts not tight its going to freely move up and down that much making a noise. I wish I had a pic.

If I remember correctly, the top shock nut needs to be torqued down to 32 lb-ft. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I couldn't find the Tq reading for the nut on the shock shaft, so I just ran it down with the impact .

Pull the shock back out and take the gun back to it.

How far down the shaft though?
and shouldn't it be tightened the same amount on both sides?
I left 6 threads showing over the perch.
should I go lower?

I really appreciate it guyz!!

Once I reached the proper torque, it just wouldn't tighten down anymore. If you don't have access to a torque wrench, just tighten it until it stops. Don't pull the threads or anything, but you can just feel it.

you just impact it till its stops then your finished.

Anyone know if the little cushion that sits in the upper shock mount is a have to have. I didn't realize the old ones had this. I used all new parts, and then taking the old stuff apart, I realized this cushion in there, from what I can see I don't see any real use for it. The nut tightens on the steel sleeve in the mount. I might later pull everything apart and add a washer this winter.
