fluid changing

yep heres a simple one , what is the reccomended interval to change you brake fluid and if you are a sprited driver like me whats a how long should you wait between intervals

I flush my brakes twice a year, bleed them every 1/4. I also autox quite heavily.

Not sure what the recommended time interval is, but the first time I autox'd I boiled the brake fluid. I run Motul now, and stainless steel brake lines.

Bleeding is easy, I recommend 2 people. You'll need to buy a couple of wrenches from Sears, boxed end for the calipers I think.

you know where i can find a good how too on brake flushing ive never touched them before

twice a year.....

Make sure you get some really good high temp fluid. I'm using Motol. Look for a high "wet boiling point."

thanks so from that i guess you can bleed your own brakes any changing the fluid is only needed every five years? even if you street race?

I bleed the brakes enough to change the fluid completely every 6 months...

I autocross. But, brake fluid absorbs water, it's just the nature of the beast (dot 3 and 4). I prefer to change it in order to keep maximum braking performance. It is probably not necessary for street use, but it can't hurt. If you drive fast or ever make hard stops from high speeds (ever go to the drag strip, stops from 100+ mph), it is worth doing. Just my thoughts. Good luck!
