Default How loud are your rear LCAs?

Just curious as to how much noise I should expect for some adjustable, tubular LCAs from UMI.

Edelbrock boxed here and they bang a lil here and there. Nothing major, most other people never notice it. I guess we all just have an ear for our cars regular and normal noises, so it's easier to pick out something that is wrong. hahaha

Poly/rod adj. Spohn. No noise at all. Well, except when one of the lock nuts was a little loose.

UMI with Polly ends no noise at all. Most of the adjustable ones will make a popping noise if they dont have the Polly ends on it

My aluminum LG's were noisy as hell when I first bought my car, after re tightening them there is zero noise. If there not tight as hell the tolerance/slack between the bolt and bushing sounds like the rear is going to fall out of the car.

Pavlock Performance dual spherical rod ended LCA's here.

Awesome product. Noise is present but does not get annoying. I only hear them when traveling at a low rate of speed over bumps.

The UMI double rod ended LCAs use just about the BEST rod ends available, so they should not knock or make any noise at all when NEW and properly set up/tightened. As they wear, and the bearing tolerances become larger, they will knock (as do ALL rod ends, no matter how expensive/high quality). The difference is that the better, higher quality rod ends will go further/longer until you get that wear induced knocking.
Now, double rod ends WILL, even when new and the best quality, conduct more road/chassis noise/vibration/harshness into the cabin. But to most this is worth the better launch AND handling you get from these, and it is NOT the 'jackhammer' noise one gets from poor quality, or worn out rod ends.

my increased road noise is not noticeable (granted i have a loud stereo and TDs ), and the feel difference is hardly noticeable going over turtle shells/pot holes on the road.

i'm running SJMs and i belive they use XML rod ends

I have UMI rod ended LCAs and APHR. They make some noise, but it isn't unbearable and I've had them on for probably 20,000-25,000+ miles now. Turning the radio on drowns it out.

I just ordered from UMI the poly LCAs and the "on car" APHR, I want to have my rear centered perfectly. I also wanted to cut some noise down since my Fiance likes to turn the radio down because she wants to talk and always asks what is that banging.

I'll probably end up selling the old setup

UMI poly/rod PHB, LCA.

When new, these drove me NUTS over bumpy slow traveled roads. I since greased the poly bushing sides with synthetic (blue) grease (using only the zirks) and they are now reasonably quiet.
