Thumbs up New suspension in. Sam Strano is the man

So early last week I called up Sam and ordered some of his springs, some Koni 4/4s, and his front/rear swaybars...

fast forward to saturday and I got the rear all installed (which was a 100% difference with the whole car, no joke; just the rears)..then yesterday i took the day off school/work to get the fronts buttoned up. only had minor issues due to lack of tools on hand (install U didnt say i would need a 17mm box wrench for the koni's...i bought a set up to 15mm )...and today i got a new alignment

i know i know, post the ******* pics i get it..

before:

after (shitty pics, sorry..but deal with it!!)

front:

rear:

no i'm not going to take measurements...do a search

the rear looks lower by finger measurements...but i assure its not, its hard to tell, but there is a slab of concrete thats ever so slightly higher under the rear of the car, i can feel the rear hit the bump and move up when reversing in. most importantly, the car feels and handles awesome! it feels very light and nimble, simply point and shoot (especially after the alignment i put on)..still left to do however is to adjust my phr a bit and hammer mod the right rear bc my 285s are rubbing bad on mediocre left hand turns

thanks again Sam, i love the setup!

Chris Ronson

oh yea, some action pics to come after auto-x on 12/9

Looks good. I'm a few dollars short of having my Strano experience. Are you gonna change the wheels?

It absolutely makes my day to hear when folks are happy! I'm glad you like it, and I appreciate it immensely that you took the time to post some pics and thoughts.

Get your PHB setup so the car is more square and it should help a bit more. Call me if you have any questions!

Nice choice. I also have the Koni 4/4 Strano front/rear bars set-up. I went to try and adjust the front Konis the other day and the driver's side "adjuster" was way loose (barely touched with my allen wrench and it moved) while the other side I can't even get to turn!
I've only had them for a little over 2 years now and havne't tried to adjust them since last summer. Could the adjuster be broke/corroded up??
I don't want to spray anything in there if they are broken. I don't want to have to take them off if they aren't broken.
Anyone ever have this happen?
(sorry for the semi-hijack!!)

Honestly, it sounds to me like they might be broken. The one that turns easily most certainly is, the other one might not be but if it won't turn, you can't adjust it so I'd warranty both. Koni's number is 859-586-4100.

And please let me know your real name.

Thanks,
Sam

thanks Sam..i firmed up the rear shocks a tad more today and like it a lot better, i may end up putting the front shocks a half sweep firmer. i'll play with it on sunday and make the auto-x a test-n-tune session

even though saturday is the official test day and it's now supposed to rain all weekend!

I have about 3k on my Strano's and Koni's and love them, simply the best set of springs I have ever had on a F-body and the shocks are killer.

I put mine in about a week ago. Still not aligned. Trying to locate a "clunk" in the rear suspension. I think my exhaust is lower than yours too causing it to scrape every now and then on bigger bumps. Other than that, the little seat time I did drive it, it felt great.

Good luck with it. Nice components for sure

I have had a little bit of wheel hop. I launch on Nittos on crappy surfaces for traction, aka the autox starting line and the speedway. I feel like I have control over it though. It mostly happens if I launch too hard and not smooth.

Basically I've found that the way I launch can have an effect on wheel hop.
