**UPDATE**
Replaced the ABS block and now the brake light no longer comes on.
The ABS Inop light is still on.
The Trac off Light doesn't come on now for about 10 seconds and I am able to use the switch during that time to toggle it on and off.
This is driving me nuts.

I have all 3 lights as well. It started out only coming on after 20 minutes of driving, now they are all on as soon as I start the car. Its driving me crazy as well because it failed inspection because of it.

I have no idea why this happens, or if it will help you guys at all. But when ever i run my slicks on my car. 11.5x26x17 mt et street, i get all 3 lights when driving. Abs inop, traction, and brake. WHen i put on my bfg 275-40-17's they all go away. Im guessing somehow it has to do with the vibrations and shaking in the car since the et streets dont have a steel sidewall. I know 100% for sure putting slicks on makes all 3 lights come on on my car. I have tested over and over again, and switching tires fixes for me.

Good luck, Chris

Ps.... Anyway maybe rims being out of balance, or car needing alignment could reproduce a similiar shaking, and make these lights come on. shot in the dark. Good luck.

you got to bled that unit out a few times to get all the air out of it, and also useing the automated bleed on a diagnostic scanner if you have it helps

what are the wheel and tire sizes? mine lights came on after i went to a smaller front tire and i have the c5 y2k wheels. if there is too much of a difference in voltage from the front wheels to the rear wheels it will throw the lights. get it checked with a tech2 at a gm dealership they can check abs codes and test drive with the scanner to see how much of a difference in voltage the wss are.

I guess thats the next step but its wierd.. I replaced the ABS block, I have the stock rims with non-special tires.
AFter I replaced the ABS unit, the Brake light went away and is only on while the handbrake is up the way its supposed to be.
For the first time ever, the TCS light doesnt come on when I start the car, but even with out moving staying in park, it goes off and the switch doesn't work again.
I am 100000% stumped.

**UPDATE** W/ Possible solution.
Finally this problem "appears" to be figured out. Im gonna go out on a limb here to you armkneez and also you who281. Your ABS Blocks may be bad. Heres the thing I replaced mine and the brake light went away and also the TCS/ASR works for a moment.. Heres the ball buster of the deal though, The ABS units store your VIN number in them and unless it matches your PCM apparently your ABS brakes will still not function. How ever the stealership is here to save the day on this one, $125 later they will burn the correct information into your ABS unit and supposedly the lights will turn off.

I haven't brought mine in yet... Plan on it but need to save up the $$$. If any of you guys try this let everyone know the definite solution.

Makes plenty of since to me, I plugged my new ABS block into the wiring harness and turned my key on to accessories only, at that time its when I noticed the TCS functioned momentarily and the BRAKE light went away w/ out the handbrake on. So give that a try if you have a ABS block local to you that you can try out.

I hope this all solves your problem folks, I will once again keep you all updated when this problem is actually fixed.

have you drove the car, after u made these repairs? cause if not in most cases you need to get the car up to 7 miles a hour for the light to clear, my s10 threw abs codes after i replaced wiring and sensor and the light stayed on but it didnt throw a code anymore, drove it and the light went out

I have driven the car every day, as posted in my previous post the ABS unit (and this comes from pontiac and a shop) stores the VIN and communicates it to the PCM and will not function its electronic duties unless programed. My ABS unit was out of another cars.

Then that concerns me deeply, were your ABS units NEW? or from junked cars?
And or in a 98+ F Body?

in the past a buick, a s10, a few others over the years, and in my case 02 ws6, and never had to program anything or get anything programmed, unfortuneatly i cant solve my brake problem either nor can my two local dealerships, so i feel the pain thats why i am trying to help you, maybe it does need programmed but thats news to me, my problem might be in the cruise control turnign the brakes on its rediculous and in both cases its prob something very simle

I was "Guarunteed" this was my problem.. The first 2 guys I talked to from a dealership didnt know what the hell I was talking about when I was calling around for pricing. How ever when I called the second dealership the service writer had to find another guy to talk to me. He confirmed this to be the possible case. Try talking to your dealership about your 02 WS6 about this problem possibly being the case. Let them know you put in a ABS unit.. if that is indeed the case.

I am confident that this ABS reprogram is the solution to the problem.. It makes since in every way possible to me, Still I do not want to go out and tell everyone to spill their wallets out to GM at the dealership quick n fast. I am however going to get mine reprogrammed and will let you all know how it goes.
