They don't need to be heavy duty pads, just like stock but no squeaking. Autozone pads are horrible.

Aside from the dealer, no sense in paying more when you can get the same product for less at a competing vendor.

Levi,

Look into Hawk HPS Pads. That is their street pad and will be an upgrade from stock and should be just as quiet (or, EBC greenstuff...both at www.tirerack.com).

Yes, but I have heard at least somebody complaining about all the aftermarket pads available. Either excess dusting or squeaking. I'd rather pay the $20-$40 more for a set and have some stockers that don't dust or squeak.

I found that the squeal (on my car) was from the little c-clips that hold the pads in place on the brackets, because after I put some anti-squeal compound on the clips, where they fit onto the brackets, the pads didn't squeal.

I'll second the c-clips... I swapped the clips on one side, and the new clips squealed like hell cause they touched the outer edge of the new rotor.

I just put the original clips back on and they were fine.

I'd imagine taking a file to that edge of the c-clip would have worked, too, but it was easier to just stick the old clips back in.

Levi...

I just finished bedding in a set of Hawk HPS pads (on all 4 corners) of a friends Mustang tonight...they make absolutely no noise, none! Give them a try, I think you'll be impressed.

Levi,

I've been running Hawk HPS on all 4 corners for 2 years now; no noise, VERY minimal dusting. I also autox quite heavy on them.

Just make sure you get ceramic and not metallic.
