Why my front end is wandering, suspension or tires?
Here are the vitals:
Within the last few months I have installed:
Strano Springs
Koni shocks 4/4
UMI K and lower a-arms
Strano front sway
performance alignment
riding on 245/50/16 salad shooters
I have just upgraded to 275/40/17 GS-D3 front, MT ET street radials rear, and took the car for a test drive. The front end pulls in all directions, and I am fighting it constantly. An increase in speed greatly reduces stability. It just feels like the front end is all over the place. The steering wheel does not vibrate (ruling out a balancing problem) and the car pulls equally to both sides (ruling out an alignment problem). Is my problem just the tires wandering with the road? Is this normal for 275's? I had NO problems like this with the 245's (I could take my hands off the wheel and the car would stay straight). Thanks

not trying to threadjack here but I am dealing with a shop doing my alignment and they are killing me. The car still wanders to the right a little and this is after two alignmants by them. The toe appears to be in spec but the caster they have set to 4.6 and 4.9, they set the chamber to -.20 and -.30 the first time and I made them change it, so they set it to -.1 and -.1, but now it just feels loose after that. I have talked with them and they are willing to look at it again. But what exactly should I say I want, cause they are always coming at me with we will do whatever you want.

yup, I have the 275 gsd3's up front, and my car likes to wander. It has to do with the wide *** tire up front, and the dips created in the road from fat semies. There is nothing you can do accept to drive your car in the center of the ruts, then it will stay straight. I work at a dealership and did my own alignment, I KNOW my car is nuts on, so this is what ya gotta do. Kinda blows, but what do you do? Take your car on a brand new paved road, I bet it no longer pulls you all over the road! Its the ruts that does it.
