Default 4-link vs tri 4-link

hey guys im kind of of noob with suspension and looking for ideas for my friends car..its a 2000 camaro ss what does a 4-link consist of? like torque arms,control arms,panhard rod, and wat is the different between a 4-link and a triangular 4-link? is a 4link only for the track and it will not corner well?

i realize i just asked alot of questions and im sorry haha but if u guys could give me some info it would be greatly aprieciated

4 links are for drag oriented cars. A 3 link would work better for a roadcourse car because it allows the rear axle to roll independently from the chassis. A 4 link would bind in corners, but it works really well going strait. Why are you considering a 4 link? A factory type setup with a tourque arm, LCAs and PHB can be made to handle quite well, and has reached 8s on the 1/4 mile.

idk what im looking for haha all i no is it would be on a h/c ss with 420ish whp and nittos and im looking for 11s so i need traction somehow

would a torque arms ,phr and lca work better then a tri 4-link? which one would be cheapest out of those 2 and a 4-link? u no where i can look at and get prices for a tri- 4 link and a 4link

You don't need to convert the suspension to a 3 or 4 link to get traction. Talk to Ryan over at UMI...

a triangulated 4-link is a 4-link. Parallel 4links require a rear locating device such as a panhard or a watts link. Triangulated 4links are built with the upper bars at an angle, keeping the rear end from wandering.

so do u think i should just get torque arms and adjustable control arms? or a tri 4-link

Its alot easier and just as effective to just get some parts from UMI.
