I have hawk pads on my car. They do have a bit more break dust than I like, but I guess they stop the car prety well.

They are pretty dusty. I dont drive my car much and one time it was around freezing and misty. The car felt like it didnt want to stop until I warmed up the brakes. I also have powerslots on as well.

The stock rotors stink, period. You're better off with the Autozone rotors. Even better, get the Brembo blanks.

rotorsonline, strano, and many other sponsors sell the oe replacement brembos

I purchased mine from rotorsonline cause they can zinc plate them for 8 dollars a rotor

otherwise brembo sports are nearly double but they are slotted and/or drilled

the zinc plating helps prevent rust, the blanks do not come plated normally

Taking a minute to sort through what's been said:

If there is nothing wrong with the stock rotors (nor warped, not worn out), don't change them. I do have Brembo, as well as some others if you need rotors.

I sell a LOT of Hawk pads, and I use them on my car. Yet again I see folks saying how dusty they are. HP Pluses are terribly dusty (also hugely powerful), but HPS's aren't what I'd consider dusty. They aren't spotless, but most pads that stop won't be. And the dust you do get wipes off easily, and it's a light gray vs. the crap brown from OEM GM pads. I'm not sure what these guys have, or what they consider to be dusty, but I wish they'd say because it just turns folks off without any specifics.

You can find my brake parts for an LS1 here: http://www.stranoparts.com/searchbym...D=17&ModelID=7

I have the HPS pads with cheap slotted/cross drilled rotors from the WS6 store. The dust is a lot less than my stock set up was.

As said, you can reuse the stock rotors, just get them resurfaced.

you also have the option of getting the Hawk ceramic pads instead of the Hawk HPS pads, which will reduce the amount of brake dust by a lot over the HPS, while still offering much better stopping power than stock.

I have the hawk hps pads with the ws6 store rotors and I would say they are better then stock, yet I somewhat wish that I went with the brembo blanks sometimes too though
