Default ZO6 Brakes on 1992 Z28

Ok I have got some 2002 ZO6 brake rotors and I was wondering what needs to be down to put them on my 1992 z28.

You'd be better off with an aftermarket kit for your '92.
The Z06 uses a rotor hat that installs over a hub. The '92 uses a rotor with a built in hub.
Not saying it can't be done but you may need be the first to do it.
I'd start by looking at a '98 and up f body spindle swap and a C5 adapter kit.

I have seen plenty of third gens with this done. If I switch the spindle to a 98 and up style will they work. I got the rotors for free from a friend. where can I get hte adapter kit?

It is IMPOSSIBLE to put a 4th gen (93-02) spindle on a 3rd gen (82-92). The front suspension is totally different. Can't be done. Period. 3rd gen = struts. 4th gen = SLA. The 4th gen has an upper control arm, and the 3rd gen doesn't. If you disagree with me, find me a pic of a 4th gen spindle on a 3rd gen.

Now, I know some guys put LS1 brakes on 3rd gens by cutting the rotor off of the rotor/hub, and turn it into a hub. Then you can slide the rotor over your newly made hub. No tech on how to mount the caliper though.

So, why are you asking us? Clearly some of them have done it.

David, hit me with a PM either here or on third gen, I've been doing kits for years now and did a few of the kits in that link above. Glad to help you out. Please be advised that I'm running a 3-4 week backlog but will get you taken care of if you're ready to roll on brakes. Search my ID on TGO and you'll see what I can do, or Google me..that works too.
