Default WHo runs with a 21mm rear bar . . . what can I expect

I've got:
stock springs
koni sa front
3rd gen bilstein rear
35mm front sway bar
16" kdw
and a ready to install 21mm rear (gm)

I never seem to find the time to install it, so motivate me . .
What can I expect?
Will this be over kill on the street?
More bumpy?
Oversteer?

Overkill? Not at all, not even close.

More bumpy? I just drove around with no rear swaybar for a few weeks and I personally didn't notice it being more bumpy. It probably makes the car a little more firm, but since I started with no swaybar and went to a 21 then I'm guessing your not going to notice much difference. Adding swaybars really doesn't affect your ride quality that much compared to adding a set of shocks and springs.

If your driving around on the street at normal to spirited speeds then you won't experience oversteer. You just can't really push it enough on a street like on a wide race track. If you autox or go to the road track, you will have slight bit more than when you had the 19mm. Though as you can see throughout this site and others that 35mm and 21mm or 22mm hollow rear is a very popular combination and most people really like this balance, including myself.

I doubt you will be disappointed with the 21mm or 22mm hollow and would be suprised if you noticed a ride quality change.

Thanks for the reply.

My goal is to balance the car as the 35 / 19 combo feels like the front leads and the rear follows. Not really like a sports car, more like a truck.

Car is much more balanced with the 35mm up front and bigger rear bar. I really didn't think it would be good, but swtiched and wish I had done it 3 years ago. I really like it before with only the front bar the car would push a lot more now its nicer

I know exactly what your talking about. I installed my front stano bar first with the stock rear and this is exactly how it felt. With the rear strano bar in the car became balanced again.

35/21mm solid or 22mm hollow is the way to go. I did notice the rear bar does stiffen up the ride when I was on stock springs. Not bad though and it does balance the car out.

Got it on and went for a light cruise.
Much more balanced feel and also more responsive in the corners (slightly more bumpy)
Haven't pushed it hard just yet.

What kind of bilstien do you have in the rear? You might be mismatched with the shocks. Your adding a little bit more springrate to the rear

I've been autocrossing with a ST 35 mm front and a SLP 21 mm rear bar for three years, along with SA Konis on front and rear. The cars corners very well. The rear end doesn't get loose unless I really nail it to early coming out of a cornerand then it corrects itself easily with a very slight let up on the gas. I have SS springs and 1LE rear lower control arms, panhard bar and front lower control arms. The front springs are on the lower perch on the Konis and the heater hose mod done on the rear springs.
