Do I need to do anything to the spring cups for QA1's?
I was told the stock spring cups can be re-used with the QA1's. I have the pro-kit in the front and I'm am going to put the sportlines in the rear for now since I don't have qa1's for the back. Is there anything I need to do to them in order for them to work? I know some places sell after market cups but I'd like to use mine if I can. Thanks.

Interesting. Before I decided to do the job myself I was told by the shop that was going to do it that they were going to re-use the old cups...

the cups do not come off of the factory shock and qa1's have a smaller base and require a tapered spring on both sides when you get the bmr cups they fit on the qa1's and provide a wider base to sit on so you can use your factory springs or any after market lowering spring there worth the extar $60 to do the job right

I used the factory spring cups on my QA1's. They are on there pretty tight, I had to hit mine with a rubber mallet but it came right off. The spring cups had to be enlarged to fit over the Qa1's. I used a lathe but others have used dremels, saws, etc. Here is a link to the article I used when I did mine. http://members.aol.com/InjuneerZZ/HALEibch.htm Instructions on modifying the spring cups are about half way down the page. Hope this helps.

I think I changed my mind...again I want to use the 300# springs now that come with the kit. That means that I do NOT need the after market cups and I do NOT have to modify the spring perches correct? Is it fairly easy to get the perches off the old shocks? Thanks guys.
