First day of autox with my new setup Last year I was running completely stock suspension with 275 Nitto 555RIIs all around and full bolton's. This year I added the following:
Strano Springs
Strano Bars
Koni 4/3s -- 5 sweeps from full soft on front, 1 click from full soft in back
Rod Ended PHB
cam with all the goodies, tuned by me
about 100lbs out of the front of the car
All this put me in Street Modified which is a very competitive class in my area, I was underprepped compared to most, which may change if I decide to run some 315 hoosiers all round.
Basically she ran like everyone on here says, very flat, very neutral (i had a bad understeer problem last year), could easily control the rear...the car was so different I found myself not braking which was good and bad because it means I wasn't coming in hot enough to corners. I didn't even begin to push it to it's limits, there wasn't a single moment when I wasn't under complete control, I coned once all day, which is about 12 better than my previous best
I was this close to giving up on autoxing an fbody and just building a drag car, this suspension setup made me decide otherwise. With more seat time and an alignment it's gonna be a beast.

Seriously get the most camber you can out of the front. It makes a huge difference. One of the reasons you lower the car, put the front swaybar in, do shocks, etc... is to get that camber in a happier zone. My car understeer-ed (is that a word?) like hell before I got the camber in.
... now if I could only get faster and beat a few more guys in my class...

I agree, I'm gonna go with max negative camber and max positive caster, with either 1/32" toe out or 1/16", tire life is for the birds anways.
BTW did you have any trouble fitting 315s up front?

They're CCW Classics built with a 7.5 inch backspace. Works out to about a 38mm offset.
I run them with a 1/8 inch spacer. That makes the total backspace 7.375 inches and the offset about 35mm if my math is right. It's what my particular car needs. YMMV
FWIW I ran my 50mm offset ZR1s with the exact same backspace. That required a 1/2 inch spacer.
And before anybody asks.....no, the inner fenders aren't hammered and the bump hasn't been ground off the front upright. All I did was roll the rear fender lips and install better wheel studs.

I run 50mm zr1 17x11's in front with a 3/8 inch spacer, though I ground the spindle nub which isn't legal for ESP. No big deal, the heads and cam aren't ESP legal either

I always thought that Street Mod class was Street Touring tire rules, with everything else much more free/open.
No wonder those modded Evos/STIs do so great there with 4 gumball/flypaper Hoosiers on them!!!
