Default front suspension making noise

I just bought my 99 Camaro SS about two weeks ago. When i bought the car, the guy said it had all new suspension on it since he had lowered it and wasn't pleased with the ride quality. So it is all stock, but brand new. When i it bumps the suspension makes a popping noise, can be loud at times. i'm not very familiar with suspension but to me it sounds like the strut making the noise. The sway bar has all new bushings, but i've looked at it and have no iddea what could make the noise. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Could possibly be that the one of the nuts on top of the shocks did not get that tight, I've had the same problem before.

The spindle is the parellel peice that connencts the bootom arm to the top arm. A single castle nut with a carter key is what holds it into place. Check that for looseness or if you diassemble the spindle arm, remove the castle nut, bang the bottom arm a couple times with a hammer and that should free it up. Then you have to diassemble the shock tower. I think the top a arm nuts and bolts are 18mm. Once you remove those then remove the four upper shock tower bolts, and then two 10mm bolts on the bottom a arm shock mounts. Once you have removed the shock assembly you will see a nut on top of the shock assembly. I beleive its a 15mm. Check for looseness of the nut or isolator wear.

Oh and DO NOT attempt to remove the shock assembly nut without the use of a spring compressor. That could be very dangerous. If you are unsure about something take your parts to a shop or someone with proper tools to help you.

I am having the same exact problem! Bought the car that was previously lowered and i have the noise coming from the pass. front strut! It seems to be coming from the top of the strut! It has a loud creaking sound and also a pop every once in awhile! I think I am gonna do struts springs and shocks this winter!

Now I know that you said it has all new sway bar bushings, but have you checked your sway bar links at all?

the links are the long bolts that hold the sway bar in place right? if so those are new also, but one of my friends that looked at it (not really a mechanic though) said the rubber bushings should be squished from tightening the sway bar and they're not

Try and see if you can move them around by hand! I don't think that the bushings should be squished really! You are right on what the part is!

so had suspension checked out and new struts installed, still makes the shutter noise over bumps. Was told it could possibly be steering rack, but everything seems tight up under the car. Still need help

If they are poly you just snug them but NEVER squish them as they will deform.
