Default question about bigger front brakes and the spare tire

I have been thinking about getting the LG brake caliper relocation brackets, and upgrading tot he corvette brakes. But I have one thought that keeps going through my mind. will the stock spare fit over the brakes? even if the flat is in the rear putting the spare on the rear isnt good for the posi, so it will end up on the front. dont belive in the Z06 "spare" of keeping a can of fix-a-flat in the back, because i have had a hole in my tire so big there is no way it woudl be sealed by that stuff. so I dont trust it.

so if the spare wont clear or I cant find a spare that will work, the brakes are a thought of the past...

Thanks
Troy

Just move the rear to the front of the car and put the spare on the rear.

Just move the rear to the front of the car and put the spare on the rear.
re read the post, thats bad for the posi. i think the manual even says not to do that.

and I wont be getting run flats.

I have thought all about runflats, and using the spare on the rear, and it just aint gonna happen.

all I want to know is if the spare will fit over the bigger brakes, or where to find a spare that will (and will fit in the spare tire compartment)

I think C4 Corvettes had a 17" spare, but I have never tired to find one.

My stock spare will not clear my LG front brakes. I carry a cell phone just in case.

It will not fit.

AAA, Cell Phone, tire patch kits, sidewall patch kits, small 12v inflator, and that tire seal gunk (last resort).

what the hell do you want all that weight in there for anyway? I've had to use the spare twice, and would rather leave it on the side of the road, than ever use that thing again! AAA

How is putting the spare on your rear not good for the posi? The tire diameter of the spare the same as the other tires on the car. If not you would be setting all sorts of codes with the ABS, ASR, etc. Just my opinion

well, since I dont always have the stock sized tires on the rear of the car, that means that my spare is NOT the same size as the other tires.

thanks 98 1LE and Dope. guess I wont be getting the brakes...
