Default WTB 4L80E Core

Hello, looking to a buy a 4L80E core from anywhere around the Houston area. I'm doing a side job build for a guy and all he can find are 4x4 units. I could go to the core yard but figured I'd shoot a feeler around for anybody sitting on a core they might want to get rid of first, if the price is right. If not, core yard it is I suppose. Let me know!

The trans is for me that Stephen is looking for. Every trans is a "running" trans, lol. We are going to go completely through it so that part doesn't matter. What are you looking to get for one?

They came off running and driving lq4s. I saw them before they were pulled from the trucks. One is a 04 and other 06. Both lq4 engines TThe 04 was the higher miles one. I have to go thru my notes. Don't remember miles off top of my head. They came from wrecked trucks but the ttrucks moved on there own.

Shiiiit Carlos why'd you have to get late model cores?

Pretty much this. I'll try to help out an LS1Tech guy, but I'm not really trying to pay more $400 for a core when the extra effort to deal with the core yard will save me $100-$150. The later models are definitely worth more than a couple hundred, but that's one of the reasons I don't like them, besides the fact that the OD roller clutch is weaker.

Yeah LKQ wanted $400 for an early model core and I had to stifle laughter. My best connection is a guy I know really well out here by where I live who owns a salvage yard who can hook me up, it just requires putting a dirty *** transmission in my car and driving it up to Pearland to Cam72aro's house which is a pain in the ***, but if it has to be done, it has to be done.

Appreciate it man, I hope the shop has been going well! There's a decent chance of me moving back up to Fort Worth in about ~4 weeks and helping my friends run their shop that has finally started gaining traction so they need me to come up there and be an able body for building transmissions instead of hiring some newbie from scratch and taking sales calls. We'll have to work out a mutually beneficial business agreement like we talked about a few months ago.

When I head up there, shoot me a PM with directions to your shop, would love to stop by and BS with you for a bit.

Shiiit dude, let me know what they're charging you for transmissions and converters and I'll crunch some numbers and see if we can't get you a better deal even including the cost of the shipping down to your shop.

Badass on the CNC mill, jealous as hell. We're getting a CNC machine as well soon, but not a mill. It'll be good for carving out aluminum drums, valve body stuff, things for a transbrake and some minor heavier metal machining such as machining out TH400 and 4L80E center supports to accept a larger intermediate piston. A mill though, damn you can make some sweet custom parts for that.

Hmmm, what years? That's a good price for late models but more than I'd like to go for an early model, although I'd prefer to find an early model trans for almost every build I do.
