Go here and look at the free classifieds list http://www.camaros.net/ . Do you know anything about the 1st gen Camaro? There are alot of things to look for when buying a 1st gen and if you don't know them very well I would suggest you have someone inspect/authenticate it for you. Which year do you want? The year and condition will determine the price. 69's are the most sought after so they are often the most expensive, then 67 and then the 68 so a 67 wil be slightly more than a 68. Both 67 and 68 are harder to authenticate than a 69 so if your looking at a 67 or 68 RS, SS or RS/SS you need to know what you are looking at and look real close. These cars are cloned quite a bit and often sold as real RS's etc. beware.

My 69, not for sale.

Then I would say your best bet would be to look for a plain jane 265, 307, 327 or 350 car to keep the initial purchase price down. I remember seeing a 4 sale thread in this forum by a guy from Houston selling a 6 cyl 69 I think, do a search. I also saw a ebay auction in the Houston area for a supposedly numbers matching 69 Z28 that looked pretty good.

Another good place is checking on www.lateral-g.net and www.pro-touring.com

Your correct the 6 cylinder was a 230. So why do you want to be a jack ***?

Why don't you buy a brand new crate Camaro from Classic Industries? That was the way I was going to do it.

It actually costs more to build one of those "new" bodies than it does to find a clean example that runs/drives. All of those tiny little pieces will add up to quite a bit, and that body still needs a few hundred hours of labor to get it right and painted.

My limit depends on the car.

I really don’t want to buy a car that is pretty original. I couldn’t bare striping something that was almost all factory still.

A straight clean body is what im aiming for

I have one. In Houston, all new metal being installed from the doors back. Mini tub being added as well. I'm not super inclined to sell it but if the price is right.... I have all the glass, the subframe has been powder coated with global west QA1 front setup. Firewall has been smoothed. I have all the chrome trim pieces but no interior pieces to speak of. 12bolt rear. Thats all i can think of right now.
