Sounds like a fun project
Race truck for sure.
What radiator are you running? I hadn't seen that one before.
I assume you are mounting it all the way in the core support? Will it hang out the back, or sit flush?

The regular cab is a little lighter but if you ever put any real power to it you will need the extra wheel base. Make sure when you back half it go with round tube and preferably chromemoly.
Heres a picture of my old backhalfed s10 and my 69 Nova I still have.

S-10s came with a 4ft (only on the 4wd 4dr trucks), 6ft short bed (what this and most are), and a long bed (7ft?).
I really want to build a 2dr blazer, but the shortness of it is what worries me... I like open spaces... and WOT. I just don't see a blazer handling as well as my p/u at 150+.
I think you'd have to have some SERIOUS power to need the excab wheel base stability over a reg. cab. Then again, it sounds like you are building the rearend for it. Personally, I'm just going with a monoleaf, caltracs, and an 8.5in rear.

Well I was always worried that I would not be able to run a one piece driveshaft but turns out that I can. But the next s10 project I do it will be a regualar cab.

Depending on how low you go... be prepared to notch your cab for the driveshaft... especially a single shaft. Just incase you didn't know.
BTW, looks like you have the hop-shock also... you got all the goodies
