Did you get it tuned after the cam and intake swap?

pull your pushrods again. had the same problem with a 6.0L Escalade. One pushrod didnt seat right in the lifter and it bent just enough to cause a backfire on #3

check your plugs and wires, i had that happen to me one day, my car started to just backfire and sounded like a shotgun, and got home and found that one of my plug wires was loose, plugged it back in and it was fine. Hope this helps

Check you fuel pressure and fuel filter. Also does this happen all the time? what speed does this happen? Does it occur at idle??? Need more info.

I would have someone review your spark tables, especially since you went with a bigger cam.

Question

It only backfires when i go under WOT, other than that the car is fine. I just dont understand its not even throwing any codes. I had people tell me it could possibly be a pushrod, or lifter or w.e....so THEN i was like w.e and i had a FAST intake and an ms3 installed with new pushrods...tuned and ready to go. but the car still backfires!!!! i have no idea..only thing i have is it only does it under WOT, sometimes the car feels "sluggish" like choppy and smells like gas? i just have no idea..i checked the spark plug wires today to make sure they were on and they were....went to autozone, car was throwing no codes....what other option do i have?!?!?!?

if its only under WOT could be a fuel pressure issue and going lean causing a backfire.

Check the two wires running up the passenger inner fender by your headers, the exact same thing happened to me and those wires were touching my header. It melted through the heat wrap and grounded out, I pulled them away from the header and havent had a problem since.

Mine has been doing this too. I swapped out plug wires a few weeks ago, had a bad wire, probably should have changed plugs too, but just haven't had the time to do it. But ever since then, the car sort of backfires. At highway speeds, if I let off the gas to coast down slower, it crackles down, but if I get back on the gas lightly, it will slightly backfire, sometimes multiple times like bubbling. I never noticied this before the plug wires swap, so I'm thinking maybe I messed up a spark plug???? I had a hell of a time getting the wire off of #8. Not throwing any codes or running bad at all, doesn't seem to be down on power.

Like I said before, check your fuel system sounds like you are running out of fuel on the big end. My car had the same problem twice when I did not have a sump tank gas sloshed around or my pre filter got cloged. When is the last time you changed your fuel filter? If never now is a good time.
