This is good stuff for UT.
On the other side of the coin.. When Stoops doesn't win his little bowl game this year (again) NO U will probably escort him out knowing that UT is a force to be recon'd with!!
NOklahoma''s candle is beginning to flicker...
Go TT/NO SU.....
Sorry, i couldn't help myself...

Stoops has more conference titles in the last 13 months than Mack has in his 25 year career.
#24
How many conference titles has Stoops won is the past 13 months?
How many conference titles has Mack been a part of during his 25 year career?
Hint: You may want to learn to do a little research before speaking next time...

2. Mack has one (1) conference title as head coach...your ace in the hole is what? The co-championship he won under Switzer???? Do we have to count his 8-1 Pop Warner record in 1961, too? What about his NFL Fantasy League title in 1998?

sometimes it isn't worth all the hype of pulling 5 stars.
we have a great upcoming class of freshman, and we do plenty fine with recruiting... Mack knows who is good for the team and who isn't..

But I don't want to muck up your thread...Congrats on keeping Muschamp. Hopefully he will continue to uphold Mack's winning tradition at UT for decades to come.
I mean, success has followed all of his assistants....I mean look at Robinson...and look at Applewhite at Bama, wait they are ranked #1 *after* he left their program...it's a hell of a legacy I tell ya.
Mack is basically the Bill Walsh of college football.
But I'll let you guys bask in the glow of Muschamp and not upset your euphoria...

1. I fucked up my months, sorry Stoops won in 06 and 07 Not a research problem, just a math problem. "more titles in last two years than Mack has had in 25 years"

1. I accept that your math was flawed.
2. I wasn't counting the '84 Big 8 conference title, but since it was in the past 25 years I guess we can.
3. See sig.

I guess you're already counting the 2008 Big12 title. I guess that makes sense...I mean, it's not like Mack Brown ever loses late season games he shouldn't and hands the conference title over to another team. That *very* seldom happens...

Todd, wow a lot of sour grapes from you. Retaining Muschamp was huge for Texas even if you don't want to admit it.
BTW, Scoreboard 45-35 and three out of the last four over OU for Texas.
Lets not turn this into a pissing contest please.
Hook'em!

Texas has never been short on talent and that won't change because they only have 1 '5 Star' recruit.

P.S. The rest of the Big XII is in trouble now that Muschamp will be around for years to come.
#33
Sour grapes? Not really...OU isn't interested in hiring Muschamp. Why would I have sour grapes over UT keeping him? I'm happy with Venables....I mean, look at all his conference titles as DC.

What conference title are we talking about then other than 2005? By my count it's one (1).

# of conference titles for Stoops in the previous 13 months: 1
# of conference titles for Mack in the previous 25 years: 1
Since 1 is not MORE than 1, the statement was incorrect. You have since amended the statement and I acknowledged that.

But that comes with the territory, right? Young coordinators who win national championships and multiple conference championships usually wind up getting D-1 head coaching jobs, right? Look at a guy named Bob Stoops...Oklahoma plucked him out of Florida and he's proceeded to dominate the Big12 this decade.

Yeah...it's public knowledge at least to Sooner fans.

Blowing bowl games, getting blown out in Big 12 championship game and still going to the national championship game, jumping Auburn then getting their **** pushed by USC.
Awesome.
