Any recommendations for a .22 cal pistol for target shooting?
My wife is naturally a really good shot – but she doesn’t like the kick of her 9mm ‘ported’ Glock or my HK45 so I need to go smaller just for fun shooting.
I’m currently looking at the SIG Mosquito – Anything else I should consider? I don’t want to spend more than 300-350 for a pea shooter so something in or under that range.

I just picked up the Walther P22.
For me it came down to this one or the Sig Mosquito and after holding both, I decided the P22 was for me. You should check them both out and then make your decision. they are both very well made guns, so I think the only deciding factor should be which one feels better in your wife's hand.

Lots of very nice guns... Now you are all going to make me go to the gun shop and hold each one.
I really want a .22 with a suppressor. I just dont really want to deal with all of the BS required to get one. Check this out though, it's a SIG Mosquito.

You can also do a 1911 with a drop in .22 conversion. To convert back to .45 takes 30 seconds. We'd often do that to have a cheap day at the range.

Looking at the brownings

They have a lot of really nice target guns. Are they any more accurate than the SIG or Walther?
I like the look of the SIG/Walther better, but I've heard good things about the brownings too.

Ruger MKII or MKIII is probably the best bang for the buck and lots of aftermarket stuff and parts are available for them. The S&W 41 is prefered by many over the Rugers but is more expensive. The Browning Buckmark is also a good .22, priced somewhere between the Ruger and the S&W. Last but not least you may want to consider an older Hi-Standard, the new ones aren't of the same quality and should be avoided. The Hi-Standard is a very well made .22. Out of all the .22's I've owned or tried my Hi-Standard H-D Military is still my favorite.
