I saw a special on the news about this before and there was a town up north where supporters gatheresd and they all had guns on the hip. I like it, but in Texas people are crazy to think you don't carry if they can't see it. Every member of my family has at least one fire arm at all times.

States like Colorado already have these open carry laws in force allowing it...Texas was harassed about not having it in one articcle I read. I think the concealed will suffice, but open probably would not hurt one way or the other, in my opinion.

I would like the option to open carry. Mostly because concealed is uncomfortable depending on what clothes you are wearing.

I would hate that and think it would work against you.

When i carry the crook has no idea until I brandish my weapon and it is a surprise to him. Now if i had to carry it open they know i have a gun and intern they shoot first. I think it might direct them to easier victims initially but would end up working against the carrier at times.

I don't know if I am conveying my thoughts correctly but basically i feel eventually it would be like a target on your back.

My first thought is that if you have it out in the open it is more likely to get snatched. It's hard for someone to steal it if you have it concealed.

You likely won't have anyone stick a gun in your face and rob you if you are open carrying. Then again, if they still want to rob you, they might just shoot you in the back of the head to start with.

I think open carry should be allowed in much the same way concealed carry is allowed, but there are definitely disadvantages to go along with the good.

The same type of person that might try to take a cop's gun away during a struggle on the side of the road. Some criminals are that dumb and/or desperate.

i carry about 90% of the time and if open carry was allowed it would probably be more like 100% of the time. I would still carry concealed most of the time though.

Those of you that think we shouldn't have the option to open carry: Do any of you have a CHL?

For every excuse you can make to prevent us of this right, an equal excuse can be made to warrant it. Why would you prefer to give up a right? I believe 46 other states allow open carry. Texas is the most pro-gun state, and we have to conceal? Nonsense.

I think open carry should not happen, It makes u a target for the thugs. The open carry just shows hey I got a gun what u want to do, at the same time how would a person feel if a thug steals your gun off your hip gets away and holds up a gas station and kills some 18 year girl working there?
Out of sight out of mind. And to the guys about comfort I carried a 9mm for 13 months on the outside and it was more troublesome.
