Default Got bored yesterday. . .

So I yanked the intake, scuffed it to 220 grit, threw down a few coats of promoter, some dark smoke grey, scuffed it to 320 and threw down a few clear coats, scuffed again to 320 and few more coats of clear. . .

here's the final product prior to install...

here's what it looked like when I yanked it. Already cleaned the drivers side at this point. ALOT of carbon build up in each of the runners.

Oh, replaced that nifty oil pressure sending unit that snapped quicker than snot when I carefully removed the intake...oh well. Replaced all the seals, got new 36# injectors replaced the o-rings on those and this is the final final...

probably going to shorten the braided fuel line an inch or two and the rubber hose also to help it lay down smoothly. Replace all the fasteners with allenhead bolts...maybe black coated. Thoughts? Oh yeah, I'm removing the nitrous stuff if it's in the shots too.

Looks good! I did mine in medium blue metallic. I need to get some Corvette fuel rails to paint them white.

it's amazing what rattle cans can do

Boost, what color is your car?

Thanks 99, John, Dirty, Zone & Sarge. I want to get my valve covers either powder coated OR get those edelbrock covers I keep seeing uptop.

Color did you go with? If red (I want red). I could have Duff paint mine silver and we could swap.

Sorry Consider it internetpooling. The blue is the 30th I just bought and the white LS6 intake is my "Dirty 30" back when it had an engine...

removal was the worst of it. I snapped as many have, the oil pressure sending unit on the backside. Oh well. Sanding was pretty straight forward, alot of it. . .hit it with a paint adhesion promoter and then straight paint. SEVERAL coats, then sanding, few more coats, clear, minor sanding and another spritz or two. The only holes I blocked off were the injector holes and the four holes for the fuel rails. I used expanding foam ear plugs. . . . .PERFECT size I've seen threads where people had issues w/the injectors fitting in afterwards because of the buildup...didn't happen w/the earplugs in Yank it! WORST CASE you damage your oil pressure sending unit too...or drop things into the heads. . . or spark the fuel system (btw, yes, I removed the battery ground before disconnecting the fuel stuff)

Good luck!

The intake uses 8 single rubber seals and if yours aren't damaged, you can reuse. Mine had 120K miles and were a little flat, so I splurged for the 26 bucks and replaced them. The TB seal is identical in composition, but mine wasn't bad, so that I reused. Also bought new injector o-rings for a whopping 4 bucks. All depends on the condition of the ones you've got.

your seals should be fine unless you run your engine extremely hot or hit the road courses with it. Nice cold day in Arlington (wifes up in Lewisville right now) so go out and yank the intake off. . . nothing better to do. . . and it gives you an excuse to drink while sanding
