I'm sure at this point we will never see the parts but I wanted to put a warning out for anyone planning on a restoration to STAY AWAY from this guy.
During a recent restoration on a Chevelle a complete interior was ordered. These things are pricey, nearly $800 for a kit that doesn't include seats, just covers.
The kit was to include:
*Front and rear door panels fully assembled with new top rails.
*New window felts and new chrome door locks furrells.
*Front buckets or bench with or without center armrest
*Front and rear seatcover
*New sunvisors
*New headliner kit with sail panels already covered
*New rear package tray front arm rest pads and some applications have rear arm rest pads and rear armrest covers.
*Molded carpet
Well it showed up a little at a time and finally stopped showing up. Everything was received except for the CARPET! So when contacted about this the vendor finally gets around to admitting there was a mix up and tries to handle it. Still no carpet. The transaction was done through PayPal(yet another reason to avoid that ebay related POS) and they ruled in favor of the seller because he had a tracking number. He could have sent a box of rocks for all they know.
At this point the seller is refusing to answer email or phone calls and in his last email stated that an appology for calling him lazy and incompetent was needed before he would ship out the parts because he canceled the order to his supplier out of spite. His email actually said that!
Avoid dealing with 540partsplace.com AKA AUTOLET@aol.com AKA Jeff Overstreet Body Shop in Callaway, Va. Also on ebay as 540partsplace
So basically on a car that was supposed to be completed before the end of the year we have a beautiful shell w/ fresh paint sitting there w/o anything on the inside because we don't have carpet that we paid for.
Cliff's notes:
ordered $800 interior kit, vendor screws up the order w/ his supplier and tells us to go kick rocks because 3 months later he can't get his act together and ship out the remainder of the kit, throws a tantrum when called lazy and says he's never going to complete the order.

That sucks, but carpet is easy to come by. There is a guy in Houston that sells Chevelle parts; he advertises on CL. At least then you can buy locally. If not, OPGI is running free shipping through the end of the month; I just ordered some stuff from them. Also had great service from Ground Up Resto and Muscle Factory.

Yeah, it just sucks that the money has to be spent twice to make up for it because this guy can't run a sucessful business let alone 1/2 *** it. And the car is a complete frame up restoration so it can't be just any old carpet, meaning that getting everything from 1 place assured that it would match exactly.
