Sorry to hear about this Tony. Too many scumbags without morals and some folks who have shaky or borderline morals are going to cross the line into criminal activity as the bad economy keeps on taking it's toll. Not an excuse, just a prediction.
I've heard about tailgate theft being pretty common. It's a quickly and easily removed part that can fetch some fast cash. So far nobody has messed with my truck although one early morning the alarm went off for no apparent reason. I grabbed my CZ50 and tucked it into my back waistband and went outside... nothing... nobody. I drew it and held it pointed down at the ground as I turned around and went back in the house in case it really had been some ******* and they were watching from somewhere... they would see that I was ready to give them what they deserve.

I'm in Sugar Land and we haven't had a single robbery in 5 years. I've thought about picking up a shotgun for the hell of it, but then I thought it probably wouldn't get used at all.
Sorry to hear though.

Had the STOCK stereo stolen out of one of our old neons.
Had one Neon stolen. Got it back, spent a month replacing parts they destroyed.
Had my children's christmas presents stolen out of our old shadow one week before christmas. Christmas cost me double that year.
Had some personal items stolen out of our old Durango. Cheap crap, but still.
Had my radar detector and about 50 cd's stolen out of my old ram at the state fair. With friggin police watchtowers, no less.
Had a bunch of cd's stolen out of my old Scirocco.
Thieves are pieces of ****. Pure and simple. On second thought, I wouldn't demean **** by comparing thieves to it.

I know this is bad but was a long time ago, me and a buddy of mine used to go to dealerships and steal tailgates all the time. Living in a redneck town like greenville, as Nineball said, you could get a nice chunck of change from a redneck who punched theirs when they were drunk or something. But hell being 15 and not having a job, this was easy cash.

I have a concealed carry license, and TX allows you to use deadly force to stop someone from stealing. At night, you can even shoot someone on your property for criminal mischief here in Texas.
This happened in Summerwood, Northeast side of Houston. I'm moving to the Woodlands area in about a month. Nice going away present, huh?

there is no such thing as a victimless crime.
It is good that you have turned things around, but it sounds to me like you still have a lot to learn.

Sucks to hear about the tailgate. Some of the weirdest **** stolen off cars bring the most money. When I work for Enterprise we always back our 3 row SUV's up to a wall. The 3rd row seat is worth $300-$700. I have no remorse for people who steal or get hurt while in the act. Their stupid decision in life.

This is why I like living in a small town(10k pop.). Tucking your radars out of sight I wouldnt even think about doing that here ive never have removed mine from the window when I get out or park it at the house. Crazy stuff sucks to hear about all this crap.

I'll be arriving in Texas soon. If you want, I can hide outside of your house with my AR or the 30-30 rifle to make sure no one steals anything else from ya'll.
Seriously though, that's f'd up and a bunch of BS. Whoever would do things like that, I hope Karma catches up with them and them.

hose clamp!
easy fix- put a hose clamp on the open side and tighten it from under your truck. it makes it so they cant just pull it up. they wont be carying a 5/16 nut driver they will just move on to the next one.
those **** are lazy and wont try to find out why it wont come out theyll just close it as if they werent even there
