Default Tranny shops in DFW

I have a blown 4L60E and I would assume a damaged Vig3200 in my 98 TA. Whats a good shop around DFW to drop it off for a rebuild. Time is not a factor...I live in Florida and have another car. Money is an issue...if its cheaper to buy a used 60 off of someone and have some buddies swap it in...I'll just do that. Looking for a rebuild but nothing crazy. Eventually I may put N2O back on or go with a roots or something. But getting it driving would be the priority here.

Recommendations?

Isn't Rock On in Denton or something?

you should pass up rock on and go elsewhere. You cheapest bet is going to me calling transmission shops in DFW and getting a quote for a stock rebuild. If you spray a stock 60 it IS going to go out again eventually. One if the best stock rebuild guys I know is Harolds transmissions in Denton

Havent used the transmission guy Patrick mentioned. But we use Plano Transmission for all the auto stuff. They do quite a bit of performance work along with a ton of volume for dailys. I would guess my Dad subs atleast 3 transmissions a week to them for rebuild. Ask for Jeff if you call.

I know a guy who can do a stock build for about $500 (with the trans outta the car). I could R&R & deliver/pick up the trans for $300. Or if you pull it, or have someone pull it out, then I can give you his number. Let me know.

I can do it, but I am in Fort Worth, and I would rather you bring me just the trans.

I would definetly use Trent at Specialty Transmission in Duncanville, TX. Look at the numbers I run and I have always ran on one of his race-built bullet-proof 4L trannies. Over 300 passes on this one and keeps on smiling!

His # is 972-283-3013
