Which car would you buy?
Looking to buy a car sometime at the end of the summer and was trying to choose between some. The 05-06 vette will be about the same as a 10 camaro 1SS, but the 04 zo6 will be a little cheaper. Price does play a factor

The 05-06 vette you can get in the high 27-29k range now. A new camaro ss with be 35-40k. I say a clean 06 vette. But if you have the money the camaro. But the vette will be faster so its all what you want

I just love the C5 body style more than the others. It would also be a cheaper initial investment and insurance would probably be a little less. That all leaves more money for modifying it or maintenance... You asked which one I would buy, the C5 Z06 no question...

I just bought an '06 Vette, so I'm a little biased. I sat in the demo Camaro they had at the Houston Auto Show and was NOT impressed. The interior just felt really spartan and cheap. Granted, that was a V6 (they wouldn't let anyone near the SS), but if that's the basis of their interior, no thanks. I imagine you could find a C6 LS2 for under $30K, if you're willing to make some sacrifices in mileage and options. I paid mid-30's for mine from a dealer, and it only had 4807 miles on it and was a Z51 3LT.
Compared to what I saw at the auto show, the Vette wins, hands down.

you need to figure it out all on your own since you'll be the one driving it and making the payment. for the prices of all 3, i would choose the z06. it has already had its heavy decline in price unlike the camaro, and its value wont be dropping AS quickly as the 05-06 corvettes. the z06 is also the fastest by a pretty good size margin and in a year from now, will be the most rare(dont know if you care).

Dunno man. C5 corvette interior is WEAK compared to the C6. But i'd rather have a Z06 anything even if it only has 5 more hp. I like them like this LS9>LS7>LS3>LS6>LS1>LS2.
What if this was high school math? Ah, those were the days.

Biggest question is, "What do you want to accomplish with it?"
Drag strip?
Road course?
Both?
Daily driver?
Mods planned?
If you want a track car (road course, autocross), get the Z06.
If you want a nice all around car and a comfortable daily driver yet still with plenty of power to play on both the drag strip and the road course, get the C6 (2006+ - avoid the '05 since the rear end was weak).
If you need a warranty and really would prefer to stick to the drag strip, get the Camaro (it would get slaughtered by a C5Z on a road course). But the 2010 SS Camaro also has IRS, so I'd be curious to see one hit the drags and see if the rear could hold up with sticky tires. On the Vettes, it's iffy without beefing up the output shafts and bracing the rear ('05 C6 was junk in this regard - ask NineBall).

Ask me how I know. This was the car I had before getting the Z06. It was just a little bit too cushy for me, though, coming off a 2003 Z06. The 2008 Z06 I have now is the all the fun of my 2003 with all the comfort of my 2006 wrapped into one.
