I used to run out there in the mid-late 90's. The days of waiting in a long line and never say a word to the guy next to you and line up and run. all the old hang-outs... boy how times change

It sucks now that there aren't any places like that anymore. I remember when a low 12 sec car was pretty sufficient too. I also remember sitting under the 45 overpass at airtex in my z28 and using it as a staging lane and thinking to myself that the people driving down 45 and looking over at garden ridge must have thought that a new racetrack opened up right under the interstate.

champion ford on hwy6 and beachnut.I rember going out there when i was super lil. THey use to park the cars on the curves .Been rakin,brittmore.Tanner.Westhimer. Some katy roads

LOL - used to hang out there a ton. Graduated back in 96' and that starbucks was the ****. Also, there was a place over off 290 just past the beltway (going west) in a business park (before 529) on the left that had a perfect 1/4 dead end that we used to race at all the time. Even had some Camaro dps cops come down one time (scared the **** out of all of us) and raced us for an hour or so. Really cool!!! Man I miss my younger years!!!!

i think you're thinking about brittmore. sounds like what you're describing. we used to hit up all the spots back in the day - brittmore, pinemont, spikewood, etc. rankin was always king though. i really really miss those days. most of the guys on this site will never know what it was like back then
