Default Visiting Dallas/Fort Worth, What to do??

Just like the title states, I am going to be visiting the Dallas/Fort Worth area and am looking for things to do. My wife and I have been thinking about moving to Texas for quite a while now because we are sick of all the ******** up here in the Chi and want a fresh start for our family... not to mention I can't stand Chicago Winters anymore. so this trip is just to get familiar with the area and see how we like it.

Anyway, what is there to do in the area? any points of interest? is there anything that is an absolute must see?

We are going to be coming in on November 19th and staying in the area until the 24th. Is there a remote possibility anything special is going on during this time?

Thanx in advance,
Dan

If you can make it into Ft. Worth on the night of the 19th we have a meet on the SW side from 7-11 or so.

I will be driving all day so I'll probably be a little tired. But sounds like a good time. I would love to get to know some people from the area. (especially some gearheads)

Honestly, I am up for just about anything. I will be coming out with my wife kids so the more family friendly the better. I have been researching the city and have found a couple things. From what I can see there are a lot of things to do to keep myself entertained. The museum of Science and History(I think that's what it's called) and ripleys sound like a good time.

Think of it as if you had a relative coming into town who had never been there and you wanted to show them what made your city great.

Any good restruants that I gotta hit while in town?

Well not knowing what your interests are makes it impossible to recommend anything, There are hundreds of great restaurants here, looking for anything special?

Gotta get to a good Steakhouse!
Interests are pretty much anything car related, science, and family fun.

Gotta go to del friscos for steak. But if you want some good atmosphere and food, go to Joe T. Garcias in Fort Worth. Great Margarita's and fajitas.

well theres plenty steakhouses around lets see u got texas roadhouse, saltgrass, The keg, ruth's chris, cattlemens, del friscos, hoffbrau, Pappas brothers, outback, Texas land and cattle!
Id suggest Texas roadhouse and saltgrass will most likely be the cheapest of these and both are good! If you wanna spend some money ruth's chris del friscos pappas are pretty exspensive.
Hope this helps!

We have Texas Roadhouse here, It is my favorite restruant! I will be sure to try one or two others while I'm in town though.

I knew Texas wouldn't let me down for steakhouses

Anyone know of anything a 4 year old girl would find interesting? I gotta keep the kids happy while I'm there

Thanx for the info. Honestly I'm not sure what I wanna do, Kinda shooting in the dark right now. I am going to want to do some exploring and get to know the area because, as I said before, my wife and I are thinking about moving there.
Other than the meet mentioned above, is there any other car related stuff going on that anyone knows of? I know around here there are a few spots where people gather (usually late at night) and pretty much bs the night away about their cars and usually engage in friendly competition afterwards
