I am DAMN proud of the Longhorns tonight! When Colt went down, I thought they would fold up and get blown out. The defense really showed me something (as they have all season), and once Gilbert gets more reps, he'll be really good. Let's not forget, he was a HIGHLY recruited player coming out of high school.

I feel bad for Colt. You never want to see a player end their career with an injury like that.

Congrats to Alabama and their fans. You've got a lot of youth on your team, and should be a power for years to come. Enjoy it!

240 days until kick off against Rice!

I agree with this man!! I never saw UT coming back to 24-21 with Gilbert in the game. That just shows you the fight in those Horns. I am damn proud of them tonight. They may have lost, but they gave it their best shot in the 2nd half.

Most of the Gilbert hatred seems to be coming from non-UT fans, who don't know better. Time will tell.

Gilbert played a hell of a game for a freshman qb. However; if Colt was in, the picks that bama got that turned into touch downs wouldn't have happened. My god shipley was all over the place tonight!!! Would've been a TX win if colt was in.. gilbert is awesome too.

all i can say is the SEC should now be considered a lame duck... the unstoppable defense was almost put down by a h.s. quarterback ran by a down syndrome O.C.

THIS

Good game but Texas was rolling until the fluke injury. I still can't believe what a 18 year old qb was able to do on the biggest stage in college football against the nations toughest defense. UT will be on top for years to come.

bama won for 2 reasons.

#1 stupid shuffle pass/interception right before 2nd half
#2 Colt injured 1st quarter

UT was comin'/came back despite Colt being injured. if it wasn't for that "interception" RIGHT before 2nd quarter UT would've won

damn im proud of texas, that rookie was really messing up the first half. I cannot blame him , kid comes in the biggest game too play and in nervous as hell. He got his head in the game and came as close as what 2 points away?!?!?!?!? That boy will be a huge player this next coming yr. He got a big huge chance of a lifetime to play the championship game as a freshman. He has talent and cannot wait till he shows it next season!!!

yeah 9 months to go till you can jump on another bandwagon???
was a good Game in the 1st half, Colt got hurt yes, and yes it was his throwing arm....all the Bama nut huggers can live another day till they booted from the top 5 next year....Gilbert is not a bad QB at all, what more do you want from a freshman with his 1st "full" game being the National Tittle game???? My feeleings would not be hurt if Greg Davis does go to Texas Tech..they can have him for all I care... unlike many of you Band Jumpers, My heart will be with the same team next year as it has been since '84....

HOOK 'EM

If they McCoy would have been healthy the whole game, Texas would have put bama away easily
