How to pull out the motor out of my Ta.
Well got some sad news today, Due to my two speeding tickets plus my no DL tickets they told me today that if i get pulled over again, they will not let me get my license when im 18, (currently 17. birthday in june 8) wont get my license ever... well thats what they said, i have paid the tickets but honestly im worried about getting pulled over again for any reason maybe not even speeding, i want my license so im going to stop driving till june 8 or till i get my license .
My car has had a nice exhaust leak between my headers and my head the last header bolt on the drivers side was broken off even before i got the headers so u guys can imagine where the leak is coming from, i was planing on my 2 months of no driving i would pull out the block and fix this problem, get the head of the block and get the bolt machined out and etc.
My question is i have seen a few threads out there that explain in detail how to pull out the engine from the bottom with the k member and such, ive been searching for a while now and i cant find them, ive found few threads with pictures of pull outs but not a "how to"
Can some one point me to one? thanks.
Also if i have the block out i might get a cam and i have piston slap on the first chamber might fix that also.
Thanks guys,
Ws6kid.

you do know that you can easily pull the heads and do a cam swap with the motor in the car right???... it would be sooo much easier than taking the whole motor out... as far as the piston slap, if you wanted to do a rebuild of the block then it would obviously have to come out

it's easy, the two frame rails that attach to the front bumper, just throw a chain around em and crank it up! of course the bolts holding the engine to the car have to come out. it's not hard.... just have to get creative. i've done EVERYthing on my car with a jack, jackstand, cherry picker, and basic hand tools.

Don't drop the motor, just pull the head off and while you're at it clean the up the wiring, paint the brackets/coils/valve covers. Stuff like that will make it look a lot better and take up the 2 months.
