Exclamation 2010 5th Gen ($5000!) Camaro Shootout @ Midnight 1320! June 12th!

S! LS1-Tech Drag Racers and $$$ Winners!

***Thank you BIG TIME to LS1Tech.com for becoming a event sponsor of the 2010 5th Generation Camaro Shootout during Midnight 1320: Pro-Street at LMP. Houston Performance Driving.com can't thank you enough for your support on this event.****

OK LS1-Tech IT'S HERE! What you've been waiting for! The 2010 (5th Gen) Camaro Shootout for $5000!!! There has been a tremendous amount of smack talk by shops, tuners, and private parties on LS1-Tech and other forums. It's time to see who really is the fastest 2010 Camaro on the Texas streets.....and with $5K on the line, there will be some of the fastest 5th Gen Camaros going for the $$$!

Midnight 1320 is set for June 12th, 2010. Houston Performance Driving is stepping forward to bring the Houston Area a fun filled night of racing. We encourage anyone that enjoys the "street racing lifestyle" to come and get involved with Midnight 1320. If you simply like 1/4 drag racing this event is for you too. This will be HPD's 6th Midnight 1320 event sense it began. There will be more classes added this round with some cash winnings for those that enter the "shootout".

- There has been a massive amount of attention and criticism of the street scene here in Houston. Street racing has caused many injuries and even deaths in the Power City. It's now time to stop this behavior and take it to the track. Houston Performance Driving is stepping up to the plate with to educated newbs and old cats a like on good old fashion 1/4m drag racing.

- Houston Performance Drivings mission is to bring all Houston Area race crews, forums, independents, and shops together for a different kind of track night* with a street racing theme. HPD is a forum that hosts many events throughout the year. Such has drag days/nights, meets, shows, cruises, and many social activities. HPD is a open forum to performance Imports and Domestics and those who push them to their limits.

When you say "street tire", does that not include DOT approved drag radial? If so, do the Toyo TQ's qualify as a street tire?

Good question and thanks for posting. We will treat those tires has they say "Drag Radial"..yes it can* be considered a street tire. I run the same tires on my C5 Z06. However, they will fall into the Drag Radial Classes at this event.

Thanks.

Your answer is a bit confusing. Are you saying no to the Toyo Tq's in the street class? They don't compare to my ET streets.
, so I would think they would be street tire.

Can you tell me the treadwear count on the Toyo TQs?

- We will use the treadwear rating to determine where DOT DRs will be placed. Anything under 120 will be in the Drag Radial classes no exceptions.

Hope this clears up the confusion.

Thank you.

I'm sure they'll be out there. I talked with him on the phone letting him know about the event. Said he will be there, but will let him chime in. Hoping to see a few more shops from outside of Houston grab their ***** and step up. That's if they're fast enough.

From what I understand talking with the shops, tuners, and the do it yourself guys. Is that this event has twice the winnings for 1st place. I don't compete in those big shootouts, just like to host them....However, $5000 in your pocket is worth the travel. That's a lot of lap dances!!!

There are no points for 2nd place....
