Ported Heads Let me know what you think.
The flow numbers for the heads, and some pictures.
Found out from the owner, the heads have just under 500 miles on them-just barely broken-in. They do have the oversized valves.
From what I have read in the Texas forums I want to know what you think about the heads.

i'm by no means a heads expert. the peak flow #'s at .600 dont seem to be very high.
what size are the CC chambers? so you'll know what your compression ratio is. what size are the intake runners?

Those peak numbers are very similar to the 853s I have on my car right now...absolute garbage. If you haven't bought them, save your money for some good heads imo TFS 215s or something like that or some 243 castings and get them ported and milled.

Wtf is with those intake runners? looks like somebody tried to turn a cathedral port into a square port. Whoever did the port work obviously had no idea what they were doing. Air flows like water. The majority of the port work should be to the roof of the runner as that's where most of the air flows. Looks like they didn't even touch the roof and flow numbers suck for a larger valve head... Save your money and get a real port and valve job done on some 243s, or buy an aftermarket head.

What have they told you was done to those heads? The combustion camber doesnt even look touched. Those numbers are very low for heads that have been touched with bigger valves. I'd be VERY cautious.
And FYI, the casting # doesnt matter much if you have a good porter work on the heads, casting only matters for stock flow numbers unless you step up to aftermarket heads. Good luck!

Here ya go.. this is a steal on these heads. He has more pics as well so just ask him for them. You won't be able to get a Flow Sheet as Chris Frank hasn't provided them.

Got a set for mine just waiting for $ to put them on. You can search out Chris Frank (Frankenstein Racing heads) he is a top notch guy.
Do not buy those paper weights you posted about.

I've seen a ton of his work ''flow'' a crazy number...but nothing to back it up. Just an observation. I know he's done some work for Wolfe and a few other class racers but nothing LS.

Oh and he doesn't do a lot of LSx based stuff. Just friends and his own. He does a LOT of other stuff.
That guy that owns them seems pretty desperate for money. He has been trying to sell them for a while. I was just trying to help ya out. Take it for what it is. Good luck.
