Default Any Ruger 10/22 owners?

Been looking at these online, seems to be a cheap and fun little gun with alot of custom options. I am looking to pick up a used one for cheap and make a good little plinker for cheap.

Anyone have any input about these guns or want to show your off?

I've had one for 10+ years now and I don't think this thing has ever jammed with literally thousands of rounds through it.

I've had one for a couple of years, I really enjoy it. Shoots great and really likes Federal Ultra Match ammo.

I have one and love it. Great little gun, there are all kinds of parts for them to do just about anything you want.

Yeah I'm the same as the rest of them I've had one for probably 15 or so years and I've never had a problem, except your thumbs wear out from loading if you don't have a loader.

Went to two of the local stores, one had two of them brand new for $220. One was the wooden stock, one was black composite.

The other store had about 8 of them, but all of them were already tricked out and the cheapest was like $320.

So both stores were basically a strike out for me, cause I dont see the point in buying a new one for full price. I plan on changing out the stock and barrel pretty quick, I want to do the whole "sniper rifle" looking thing with one. Plain black stock with the bull barrel and a nice fat scope on top.

10/22's are awesome....I got lucky a couple of years ago and ran into an old man selling all of his guns.....He sold me a brand new 10/22 Magnum with an older 3-9x40 Bushnell scope mounted on top.....It looks just like it's little brother, except the action is slightly longer.....Ruger only made them for a few years and I think they are pretty rare.....I never really knew about the .22WMR round until I bought this thing.....It's like a 22LR on steroids, very accurate, and alot of fun....I would say I shoot this gun 10x more than any other rifle I own

I've got one that's older than me.. still fires really well. My friend bought a decked out Marlin 22 that looks like a M24 sniper rifle or something. Pretty sweet, cheap like the 10/22, and a lot easier to load.

You sir have caught it. you will have trouble controlling your self from here on out. It is an addiction that is hard to beat.

I was in the same boat as you jimmy. I only planed to use the bolt, receiver, and possibly the trigger group. I could not justify paying for a new gun to only use 2-3 parts. Be patient, look around and ask people frequently. You will find a lot of the old ones go for more than you would believe.

I was patient and lucked out. Kept asking around and was given an old one that needed an extractor. All i had to do was find the guy a mag for his para.

Also FWIW look into ordering one direct from ruger in the configuration you want. Some times you will come out ahead doing it that way.

ok jimmy you are not getting off that easy! go to the store and buy you some punches, small hammer, small rubber/dead blow hammer, files, polishing stones, small pliers/needle nose set, a dremen and some rouge. I can think of more.

Get to really modifying your guns.

I really want one of the new MP22's. They just look badass

I used to have a Ruger 10/22 years back. It was a lot of fun to shoot it and I could shoot the damn thing all day for just a few bucks in ammo.
