EL PASO Area

I did the El Paso thing for about 2 yrs when I was younger. It's just a dessert out there and I hated it. My brother is stationed out there in Fort Bliss and I visit hit from time to time. I see alot of imports and hardly no muscle, maybe I am in the wrong part of town or something but I don't like it. If you see this truck around it's my brother. The truck has a carb'd LS1/T56 combo...

The only good thing going for El Paso is the weather. It's IMO the best you can get in Texas. No humidity, cool nights and if you're in the shade on a hot summer day it's great. In Houston, you're soakin wet the moment you walk out the house at 4AM! You can drive 2 hrs to a lake or 2 hrs to ski. 1.5 hrs you can camp in Cloudcroft with low humidity with an elevation of over 9k feet and the summers get up to 80.
Now having said that it's boring as hell in El Paso and theres to many idiot people who think it's cool to drink and drive. Someone having a DWI on their record is the norm. And it's strickly rice or mustangs. They looooooooove Mustangs and Hondas.

I live in far east EP as well. Manager at Autozone off George Dieter, tons apon tons of jap cars, euros and Mustangs. Most are not V6's, I'd say it's evenly matched. All the muscle cars arre in the northeast side of town for some reason. The cruises are mainly for imports though some are not depends on which one you go too. The hudson's cruise in is ALL muscle and domestics.
F-cars are out numbered for sure but most don't drive them during the week, me included now.
If you want to see fast domestics head out to the Southwest Superchargers race tommorow(saturday) afternoon. Plenty of 8 second cars and up(elevation at track is 5000ft +other factors).
Me and some of my friends are a part of F-body El Paso, Old93 posts sometimes as well as Sup3r. We don't get together as often as we used to but we are always around. One of the guys is taking his LQ9 equipped 99 Z28 out there along with his 383 LT1 96 Trans Am to race tommorow. So go check it out!!! I'll be there for sure!
Having a fbody small meet sunday if anyone wants to hit us up.
