Question best exhaust for a ls1?

i am wondering what the best exhaust for a ls1 is? i have a ls1 in my s10 with TSP stage 2.5 5.3L heads and ms3 cam. i have shorty headers with magnaflow high from cats with a true dual. it doesnt have a H pipe or X pipe. i had a dual in dual out magnaflow on it. then i put a flowmaster dual in dual out. well i had put a ported TB and 36lb injestors and got a retun with the flow on and i lost 23 rwhp . i am really lost and not sure what to do. the guy that did my tun said it was the flowmaster. so i am prolly going back to the magnaflow but just wondering if there is something better or should do different?

From my understanding, flowmasters are one of the worst exhaust in the market. I would go back to magnaflo or if you want to spend money you can go with corsa. Not sure how much more of a gain you will see with the corsa over the magnaflo though.

how about some Long Tubes, and have a custom True Dual exhaust set up? there are LOTS of writeups for custom exhast in here. Try using the search.

well the ls1 is in a s10 and i got shortys now. they long tubes i have found will not work with my set up. my s10 bagged and when you lay it out the control arms will hit the long tube set up. i have a custon thre dual set up now. i am thinking about do the slp loudmouth resonators. but not sure if i want to keep the true dual and buy 2 of the 2 1/2 ones or get a Y pipe and make where i only need one. that would be a 3 inch

you need long tubes. you might have to do some good old fashioned searching but i'm sure they are out there. also you need true duals under that beast. do a 3" X-pipe with bullets dumped under the bed. no cats. and it also sounds like you need a better tuner.

yeah i know i need long tubes. trust me i have been researching like crazy! i know they make them but the problem is getting them to fit on my s10. i have air bags and when i sit the truck on the ground my aarm's go up really high. second i have a custom built steering with a mustang rack. so i dont know the my steering shaft will clear. i havent really seen anyone do a swap like mine. i believe my tune is good. a guy named chuck did it at houston performance

hmmm custom headers? idk how much that would cost though. i still say a 3" x-pipe with bullets dumped under the bed would be a good set up for you.

Not that bad, just the 80 series mufflers that go on our cars are not the best.

I say some powersticks from classic chambered. I have them on my LS1 with longtubes and a catted y-pipe. The sound is just unreal, with no drone or rasp what so ever.
Best exhaust I've heard so far. I like it a lot better than my magnaflow.

i don't like power sticks honestly, especially with out cats. and idk what OP's plan is for the cats but i say ditch 'em. my personal favorite muffler would be spintech. i have a 4" spintech in my mufflex catback and it sounds awesome. although some ppl hate spintechs...for dumb reasons...i still like them and my car made great power with a spintech muffler. video's in my sig if anyone's curious.

Didn't the Magnaflow have an xpipe built in? I had a 3" in and out 24" magnaflow with a built in x pipe then went to true duals on my truck. I regretted that decision as the cab drone was horrible and gains were minimal.

well i plan on keeping the cats. when i first built the truck i never really wanted to go fast. i did everything by the books, even keeping all the o2 sim. i didnt plan on doing heads and cam. then i got tired of just showing my truck and started hitting up the track. then i did head, cam and ls6 intake.

i think i am going to run two slp loud mouth resonaters dumped under the bed. if it dont work out how i want it f*** it. this will be the 3rd exhaust i have put on and i am tired of welding and fabing them up
